Custom Orders
This section shows a variety of different items that were painted
as custom orders for different clients.
Often a client liked items that I have on the site or display in
shows but they either need a specific item to be in a color scheme
that works with their house or they like a specific design but would
like it painted on a totally different surface.
If you have interest in a custom piece to match your decor or to
be painted on a specific surface, please contact
me by email.
A
client asked for suggestions for a fireplace screen for her home.
She used a lot of peach in her home so I suggested the peach colored
urn. She also loved hydrangeas.
I hand painted shades of different hydrangeas including some that
were not quite mature and put these in a peach urn, topped off with
a big beautiful bow.
The background is a soft green with stripes of a subdued gold mottled
over the green.
The screen was entered in the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston-Salem,
NC in 2005 and won second place for acrylic painting on wood.
These
two tissue boxes were painted for the same client.
She wanted the tissue boxes to match the wallpaper colors she had
in two bathrooms.
I hand painted the light colored one with an off white background
and used the other colors of her wallpaper, gold, green and blue.
The
dark colored tissue box also matches the wallpaper in another bathroom.
The background is black which is the base color of her wallpaper.
Then I added the shades of blue and lavender to match the other
colors in the wallpaper.
This
is a 3' x 4' hand painted floor mat; it is a copy of the client's
old mat.
She loved her old mat but it had gotten stained and worn. This is
an exact copy of her original mat except for the artistic license
I used to add a couple of flowers and strawberry blooms where the
old mat only had the strawberries.
I also added a dark green border that the original mat did not have.
This
hand painted napkin holder was ordered by a customer who wanted
an old napkin holder painted with something new that was more masculine.
This was an item he had received after a divorce and the light
green and wild flowers just wasnt what he wanted. The first
thing I had to do was to repair the napkin holder. One side was
loose so that was refastened and the whole thing was then sanded
for a nice smooth new surface. The design and colors were left up
to me. His only stipulation was not flowery.
I then painted a faux wood background which I thought was more
masculine than light green. Then I added the luscious red cherries
on one side only. I left the other side to show off the background.
This new finish will look great when he entertains now.
The napkin holder measures 5 x 6 x 2-1/2. Wouldnt
you like to have a pretty napkin holder for your home?
